FROM EUROPEAN EXPLORATION THROUGH RECONSTRUCTION
Tracking the history of the United States from its roots through its growth, beginning with the European exploration of the New World. We will then shift to the origins of the United States through English colonization and discover the causes and meaning behind the American Revolution. We will then explore the infancy of the country and the track its growth by looking at politics, social developments, and wars. We will wrap up the course by discussing the cause of the Civil War, the war itself, and Reconstruction.
Studying HistoryThroughout this class we will be reading primary sources from the events we are studying and construct a picture of what life was like socially, politically, and economically to better understand the course of American history. We will also use contemporary historians' views of historical events and analyze whether or not they are accurate.
