I grew up in a small town in eastern North Carolina called Goldsboro. Not much excitement happens there except for once a year we have an air show, hosted by Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Other than that it's just your average run-of-the-mill North Carolina town. Fridays in the fall are dedicated to high school football and Sundays are devoted to the two essentials of any Southern town: God and the NFL. Goldsboro is surrounded by open spaces with corn fields and tobacco fields stretching for miles on each side of the road and we all know what it's like to get stuck behind a tractor while trying to get somewhere in a hurry. All in all, Goldsboro was a good place to grow up.
I played plenty of sports growing up, but baseball was always my favorite. There was just something about it that was more fun than the others. When I got to high school, I played three seasons on varsity. Looking back on my high school years, most of my best memories all revolve around baseball. The big games, the exciting plays, and the hilarious bus trips to away games all stick with me and are constant companions when walking down Memory Lane.
fr I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I majored in History and minored in Creative Writing and Statistics. My four years at UNC-CH were absolutely amazing. From cheering on the volleyball team as part of the Block Party to learning about all sorts of history to attending the greatest rivalry in all of sports (UNC v. dook), UNC will forever hold a special place in my heart. The friends I made at UNC are more like family and I will continue to stay close to them for the rest of my life. Ra-Ra Carolina!
I am blessed to have two amazing parents, Corinne and Michael, who have given me a fantastic life and raised me to be the man I am today. I am also blessed to have an amazing girlfriend, Jamilynne, who supports me and stands by me.
